The NHL regular season ended this past Saturday which meant that the defending Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings’ season was over.
There will be no title defense when the puck drops for the opening round of the playoffs on Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean the Kings won’t still find ways to entertain us.
Since they’ve already started picking up their iPhones to share some of their personal lives, we figured we may as well recap their offseason adventures.
…OH GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY AREN’T IN THE PLAYOFFS.
At any rate, we’ll compile the week’s best moments. The original plan was to start this next week, but the Kings finally answered the #IsItMidApril call with a flurry of action on Monday, so we’re gonna go ahead and kick this off now.
Presenting the Best Kings Social Media Moments during Week 1 of the offseason!
To say that Mike Richards had a trying year would be a massive understatement. The former All-Star was waived by the Kings, went unclaimed and ended up spending time in the AHL with the Manchester Monarchs. He was eventually recalled, but finished the season as a healthy scratch.
With the season from hell finally over, Richards can get back to focusing on more important things!

Feel better now that you got that off your chest, @bSahota08?
During the Kings 2014 Stanley Cup Banner Raising Ceremony, each player was introduced to massive cheers from the crowd at Staples Center. What you may not have seen at home, however, was the tumble that Kyle Clifford took as he skated around center ice. There was a Zapruder-like film online, but Andy Andreoff finally revealed just how epic Clifford’s fall was.
Going to miss this guy #cliffy pic.twitter.com/IzWrSSGpQD

We should have realized this was an omen for Kings season.

Back, and to the left.
Back, and to the left.
Back, and to the left.
But that wasn’t all that Andreoff contributed!
While declaring how much he was going to miss his left-winger during the offseason, he made sure that another one of his teammates didn’t feel left out of the lovefest.

Brayden McNabb’s fro game remains strong.
@andyandreoff @nabber03 I'm now buying a McNabb jersey because of this picture.

And a lifelong McNabb fan is born!
While it’s not as good as last summer’s collection of beach pics, Marian Gaborik reminds Kings fans that life without hockey in Los Angeles can still be fun if you try hard enough.
cc: Free Agents wondering if they should sign with the Kings.
*keeps staring at picture*
…the Kings what now?
As if a beautiful day at the beach wasn’t enough, Gaborik also showed off Andrej Sekera’s, um, fashion sense?
Remember to stay hydrated, kids.
I can’t stop loving this team.
Kings’ fans favorite odd couple, Drew Doughty and Trevor Lewis, were back at it on Monday, and entertained us in the best non-Stanley Cup-winning way possible: Making fun of each other.

Oh. My. God.
One would think that this is where the fight would end… but Doughty had one more bullet in the chamber.

How this child ever grew up to be one of the top defenseman in the NHL truly is a mystery.

Are you listening, PHWA?
Not to be outdone by Doughty and Lewis, a pair of Kings restricted free agents decided to engage in a little online battle as well. Things started off cordially.

A picture of Tyler Toffoli and Martin Jones, I think.
Then Toffoli upped the stakes on the duo’s night out at Dodger Stadium.
Having a Dodger Dog with @marniethedog
Oh man Bruno is gonna be pissed!
Seeing Toffoli spend time with Marnie the Dog sent Jones into a fit of jealousy and rage. So how did he respond?

Showing people that Toffoli hasn’t aged and may in fact be some sort of alien being.

This is going to be a long summer.
What Did Jarret Stoll Manually RT This Week?
I’m not sure whether Jarret Stoll has no idea how to use social media, or if he’s mastered it in a way that people cannot truly appreciate.
The Kings center never really tweets anything of his own. He just adds a “. RT” to seemingly every tweet and watches this “new” tweet go viral. It’s aggravating, maddening and somewhat brilliant. He also just favorites a bunch of travel tip tweets, and has even managed to favorite one of his own tweets.
So what did Stoll do this week?
Much like the past few seasons, he just piggybacked off his teammates’ success.
