TRH GAMEDAY 76 – Chicago Blackhawks: Turn Down for SUTT

CHI(newLAK)_GAMEDAY

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: The LA Kings are outside of the playoff picture.

The Kings had a chance to put some distance between themselves and the Calgary Flames, but came up short in a critical matchup against the Minnesota Wild. And for the Wild, that win temporarily put them ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks for third place in the Central Division. So yeah, the Western Conference playoff picture is as murky as ever. But that No. 1 Wild Card now seems reserved for either the Wild or the Hawks, leaving the Kings with one less open spot to make it to the postseason.

Western Conference Playoff Odds 3.30.2015

Playoff hopes rest between the Flames and Jets, just like we all predicted.

Which brings us to tonight’s game between the Kings and the Blackhawks. Two teams jockeying for playoff position. A rematch of the past two Western Conference Finals. A matchup of the cream of the crop in the NHL.

Ugh all of this sounds so stressful.

Instead, let’s all come together to wish happy birthday to someone who holds a special place in both franchise’s hearts.

Chris has become a fan favorite in Los Angeles. The stories that the players share about how he’s become like a brother to them have touched the hearts of all Kings fans. And his now famous third period Dance Cam moves have made the crowd at Staples Center come alive during the biggest moments of just about every game.
