The LA Kings had everything their favor heading into last night’s matchup against the Ottawa Senators.
- Kings were on a eight-game win streak
- Kings had the league’s third-best record at home (20-6-6)
- Senators had a losing record on the road (11-13-5)
- Senators were playing the second night of a back-to-back
- Senators were starting a rookie goalie who played the night before
In other words … uh oh.
The Kings did score first though!
“…but wait, the score on top shows that the Kings were shutout,” you say.
Well, let’s see what happened:
Wooooo! 1-0 Kings …wait, what?!

Angry Justin Williams makes me sad.
So, of course, the Kings were shutout by a rookie goaltender who had just shutout the Anaheim Ducks the night before.
Mike Hoffman scored for the Senators blah, blah who cares.
Mike Hoffman should be selling you real estate, not scoring hockey goals.
