TRH RECAP 60: Win Streak Gets Hamburglared

KINGS 0, SENATORS 1

The LA Kings had everything their favor heading into last night’s matchup against the Ottawa Senators.

  • Kings were on a eight-game win streak
  • Kings had the league’s third-best record at home (20-6-6)
  • Senators had a losing record on the road (11-13-5)
  • Senators were playing the second night of a back-to-back
  • Senators were starting a rookie goalie who played the night before

In other words … uh oh.

The Kings did score first though!

“…but wait, the score on top shows that the Kings were shutout,” you say.

Well, let’s see what happened:

Wooooo! 1-0 Kings …wait, what?!

JustinWilliamsNoGoal3

Oh for the love of…

JustinWilliamsNoGoal2

Angry Justin Williams makes me sad.

So, of course, the Kings were shutout by a rookie goaltender who had just shutout the Anaheim Ducks the night before.

Mike Hoffman scored for the Senators blah, blah who cares.
