TRADE: The Beginning of a New Sek-ERA

Dean Lombardi has been busy the last few days.

After re-signing Jordan Nolan and Kyle Clifford before they could become restricted free agents at the end of the year, Lombardi turned his attention to improving the roster from outside the organization.

He just needed to find the right fit at the right cost.

That’d be awesome, but no way Lombardi snags the top defenseman on the market!

But does Sekera have the skills to help the Kings to another Cup run?

*thumbs up*

So allow us to officially welcome Andrej Sekera to the Los Angeles Kings!

He’s already a Hollywood sellout!
(FYI, Andrej… no one in LA would eat that many carbs in one sitting. Gross.)

As the trade news hit Twitter, it was easy to see that fans from all over the league were divided on how to feel about the Kings latest acquisition.

Poor Sharks fans.

…and Rangers fans.

Seriously, I will never not love Sharks fans.

Cheer up, Ducks fans, you still have Clayton Stoner!

Totally. Those two Stanley Cup Championships were each an overpayment.

“Sabres Buzz” is the sound the empty arena in Buffalo makes.

Classic Deano.

Way to string that conversation together.

The Kings got another Jake Muzzin! Hooray!

What a time to be alive.

We’ll have plenty more about the trade coming in the next day or two.

Until then, let’s just hope the rest of the Western Conference panics and overpays for some second tier talent before Monday’s trade deadline!
