Happy 25th Birthday!

Drew Doughty, the LA Kings loveable cornerstone defenseman, is celebrating his birthday today. And much like the members of #TeamTRH, Doughty has reached his 25th birthday with millions of dollars in his bank account and beautiful beachfront property to go along with a an already impressive NHL career.

While Kings fans have been spoiled by Doughty’s All-World level of play in his first six-and-half seasons in the league, it’s important to remember just how truly special he’s been for the franchise.

Doughty upon hearing about In-N-Out’s plans to expand throughout the Southland.

Selected 2nd overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Doughty quickly established himself as one of the league’s best defenseman. This was a strange concept for Kings fans as they typically didn’t get to see top draft selections made by the team ever work out. But with Doughty, all of that quickly changed.

Sure, he was a little timid at first.

But he quickly settled into the Drew that we all know and love.

But once Doughty figured out how to play with the world’s best players, he really took off and hasn’t looked back since.

Age 22.

But winning an Olympic Gold Medal and Stanley Cup in separate years wasn’t difficult enough of a feat for Doughty. So when 2014 rolled around, he was ready.

That’s a helluva run for a guy who looks like this when he’s at home…

All hail, Doughty!

So keep it up, Drew, and know that Kings fans everywhere love you with all their heart and wish you the happiest of birthdays possible.
