TRH GAMEDAY 4 – EDMONTON OILERS – #HereComeTheKings
Now that The Royal Half has a friendly partnership with Oilers Nation and the entire Nation Network, we thought we’d take the opportunity to refresh the memories of LA Kings fans about the recent history of the Edmonton Oilers.
Every time the Edmonton Oilers are in town, LA Kings fans should be grateful as they are reminded that the 2 Stanley Cups in 3 Seasons they have witnessed would not exist without our friends from the North. Remember when Kevin Lowe traded Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene for Lubomir Visnovsky?
We sure do!
And remember when Steve Tambellini sent Erik Cole and a fifth-round draft pick to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Patrick O’Sullivan to complete a three-way trade in which the Hurricanes traded Justin Williams to the Kings?
We sure do!
Who could forget when Tambellini also traded injured forward Colin Fraser to the Kings for Oilers Legend™ Ryan Smyth?
We sure don’t forget!
And finally, remember when Tambellini traded Dustin Penner toOH YOU GET THE POINT!
I don’t think it’s hyperbole at all to say that Steve Tambellini is the greatest GM in LA Kings history.
For LA Kings fans, it’s easy to be reminded how the Edmonton Oilers basically handed us the keys to the Stanley Cup. But it’s hard to remember the last time the Oilers themselves were in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
