Well that certainly was fun! The Kings didn’t even play their best, and they still managed to get a win in the “Most Feared Building in the NHL”. The only bad part of that win is they can’t #ReverseSweep again. I was semi-hoping the Kings would become the first team to go down 0-3 in every series and still win the Stanley Cup. I wouldn’t live to see it, as I would have died of alcohol poisoning about half way through the third loss to the Ducks, but man that would have been exciting for the rest of you. Since that’s not happening, I’ll just take a regular sweep this time.

As expected, Kings fans made the trip down to the Honda Center en masse to see their team play in it’s second home arena.
No surprise but a real healthy contingent of Kings fans here at Honda Center…

After some amazing people watching, it was time for the game to start. The series lived up to hype, kind of.

Ok, so the game didn’t start off that great, but we did get Teemu tears early in the game, which is always fun. I wonder if we can take back the paddle board and just give it back during the handshake line, since that’s REALLY going to be Teemu’s last game against the Kings. After watching Teemu Selanne turn into a crybaby, Nick Bonino took a penalty and Alec Martinez scored!!! OLE! FIESTA!

After that goal the Kings kind of played like poo. They let Anaheim get back into the game, and Matt Belesky scored to tied the game a few minutes later.

The Kings continued to suck for a while, nothing happened in the second period. I was on Twitter the whole time. I also ate some tacos.
