TRH RECAP 81: NO (SP)OILERS

KINGS 3, OILERS 0

Last night, the LA Kings dispatched the Edmonton Oilers without breaking much of a sweat, highlighting just how far apart the two Alberta teams are in their journey back toward respectability.

In fact, the Kings haven’t lost a game in regulation in Edmonton in over six years, but who’s counting?

Darryl Sutter Hand Signals - The Royal Half

There were lots of cool milestones in this game – Kopitar’s 200th goal, a two-goal effort from Gaborik, the Kings’ franchise record 13th shutout in a season, and the second game in a row where they avoided taking a penalty. In a game that means about as much as a Jennings Trophy, it’s nice to have these things to take with us as we look toward the final game of the regular season (and of course, the playoffs).

In honor of our most recently defeated foe, however, I thought it might be nice to take a nice retrospective journey back through a special little hashtag that we like to call…
