TRH TRADE RECAP™: Marian Gaborik Edition

While LA Kings fans were still trying to make sense of the Brayden McNabb for Matt Frattin deal, Dean Lombardi was busy kidnapping Boomer the Cannon and holding him for ransom working on a larger trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Whoa.

Whoa!

WHOAAAAA!

Meh, that’s fair.

Without either player even suiting up for their respective team, and the draft picks just a twinkle in Jarmo Kekäläinen’s eye, it appears that, in the immediate short term, the LA Kings got the better return.

Sure, Marion Gaborik is oft-injured, but Lombardi didn’t give up much in the process.

Even if Gaborik won’t come close to his former 40+ goal scoring ways, he’s still another weapon that the goal-starved Kings sorely needed.

Let’s see how fans of the Kings, Blue Jackets and the rest of the league felt about this pseudo-blockbuster.
