The forecast said that it was going to be in the low 80s (that’d be 28 Celsius) at the beach last weekend.
So, naturally, @theroyalhalf and I thought this would be the best possible time to load up all of our warmest tank tops and head up to great white north!
And it turned out to be one of the greatest decisions in our lives.
Between the free flowing booze, delicious donairs, and delectable Mexi-Canadian fare (no, really!), our buddies at @OilersNation and @EdmontonTourism made their welcoming city a place that we were proud to call home, even if it was just for a few days.
Of course, we were nearly run out of town right after we landed because someone couldn’t finish his beer.

So. Embarrassing.
Then we drank some more.
Goin to @pintedmonton with the lads from @theroyalhalf to prove once and for all that there aint no party like an anonymous bloggers party

At the @pintedmonton and I just joined in the most classic of Edmonton traditions… watching the Ducks lose.

Drinking a Molson at @TheEdmontonRush game and I was given honorary Canadian citizenship. Thanks, @EdmontonTourism! pic.twitter.com/0TZIDrR1FH

I always thought the @OilersNation was known for their writing, but then they showed me their vodka drinking skills.

Best believe regardless of score tonight it will be @OilersNation: 1 @theroyalhalf: 0 in the Bloggers Drinking At The Game contest #victory

And more…
…I just wish there was some way to segue back to our trip.
That’ll do nicely.
And oh yeah, the LA Kings were also in town!
No, really, this is like an everyday thing in Edmonton.
Per the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, the streaking LA Kings had to take on the Edmonton Oilers. I know, I know. It’s awful that both teams were subjected to such a barbaric practice, but rules are rules.
Heading to @EdmontonOilers game in style with @EdmontonTourism. We’re gonna show them how we do hockey, LA style. With fake tans & low carbs

We've got a couple of Kings bloggers at Rexall tonight. Be sure to direct all your Kings related boos at @theroyalhalf & @PumperNicholl -bm

The game went on. We cried because we missed Ben Scrivens, we laughed at Jeff Carter’s butt goal, we laughed AND cried when Trevor Lewis scored – all of it was so amazing and we wished we didn’t have to leave.
But just because we did leave doesn’t mean we won’t be going back.
The trip opened us up to a whole new world that was draped with natural beauty, filled with some of the nicest people we’ve ever come across and a growing downtown scene filled with amazing bars and mouthwatering restaurants.
Also, we found these:
Best. Canadian. Keepsakes. Ever.
It’d be impossible to capture the entire essence of Edmonton, but just know that if you ever made the trek to see a couple of hockey games, you’d be giving yourself a wonderful vacation.
@theroyalhalf @OilersNation @WanyeGretz Great having you and glad you enjoyed Edmonton. We'll try to keep it under 50 shots next time.

I just hope they’re not referring to the drinks.
