TRH RECAP – SAN JOSE SHARKS ROUND 1 GAME 2: LAYING AN EGG

SJS_2_RECAP

KINGS 2, SHARKS 7 (!)

Happy post-Easter and continued Passover, everyone!

How was your Easter?  We at The Royal Half hope you had a wonderful Easter.  So good, in fact, we hope you passed out sometime early afternoon due to a brunch-induced coma and woke up sometime after this abomination of professional athletics took place.  Seriously, you lying your fat ass on the couch all afternoon was more effective than most of the Kings.  No offense, of course.

Anyway, not all of us were so lucky.  But, we’ll get to that in a moment…

…oh, what the hell.  Let’s get this shit over with.

Period 1

Period 2

There would be no Easter miracle.

Period 3

Zach, in some ways, you and I are very different people.

TRH THREE STARS OF THE NIGHT

3rd Star: Germans

2nd Star: Lost Hope

That’s a great sentiment, Patrick.  It really is.  I think what Patrick means is the best way to handle something this depressing is not to use humor, but to lash out at others like a petulant child.  You really know the right words to say/tweet, Patty O.

Positivity aside, no postgame quote or players only team meeting is going to change what happened.  Fans and players will cope with losses in their own way.  But, nothing about this groups of players is encouraging at the moment.  The Kings were obviously broken up after this game.  Just look at this photo of their dressing room taken just after the game.  The look of dejection on those faces is crushing… dumpster-fire_medium Find a silver lining, Kings fans.  I dare you.

1st Star:  The Easter Bunny

What’s the next stage after fear?  Oh, that’s right:  Acceptance. Yay Kings!  Hashtag Reverse Sweep!!!  You can do it!  16-2 in the playoffs!

We’re not done recapping this shitshow.  KORAB stats for Game 2 and the series are on the way!

Flubber McGee is TRH's resident Kansas City correspondent, and has survived as a Kings fan long before the dawn of Internet streaming sites. He has seen the Kings win exactly zero non-exhibition games in person. Have you ever achieved enlightenment? Flubber has, because he once witnessed Kevin and Brett Westgarth fight in, and get kicked out of, the same game (they didn't fight each other, unfortunately). In addition to being a part of TRH, Flubber runs a Kansas City hockey blog. It's exactly what you think it is. You can follow Flubber McGee on Twitter @FlubberMcGee.
