KINGS WEEKLY: EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN

Last Thursday, there was a brand-new episode of Kings Weekly, the new LA Kings lifestyle show on Fox Sports West. And you know what that means… it’s time to play America’s Favorite New Game Show…

WHERE! IS! ALEX CURRY! STANDING?!?

This week’s answer is…. The Ice!

Boy, after making fun of the Premiere episode of Kings Weekly, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this past week’s episode and make fun of it like I’ve never made fun of anyth….

Oh. This is awkward.

Actually, you should all watch this piece on Charlie, the son of the LA Kings Director of Community Relations Jennifer Pope, who suffers from Hydrocephalus, which is also known as “water on the brain.” And then you should donate whatever you can to the Hydrocephalus Association, so you can help Jennifer and countless others find a cure.

The segment on Charlie was emotional and deeply moving. It was also the only piece of content on last week’s episode of Kings Weekly that none of us had already seen like 4 times.

First, there was Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene being honored by the Hermosa Beach City Council for their volunteer work, donations, community service, being “champions.” Literally… for being “champions.”

Of course the Mayor of Hermosa Beach is named Kit.
FYI, later that day the Mayor was nearly censured by his city council.

And Jarret Stoll… hands in pockets or hands out of pockets. Make a decision.

Best. Episode of Parks and Recreation. Ever.
This is also the same amount of people that watched this episode of Kings Weekly.

Kings Weekly then listed the accomplishments that Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene were being recognized for.

Honestly, they deserve a LA Kings legends night more than anyone.

Of course, you are already familiar with Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene being honored (or honoured for Stoll) by the Hermosa Beach City Council… because it happened in August and the video and story was already on KingsVision on August 20th of this year. But I’m sure the next segment on Kings Weekly will totally be something brand-new that we haven’t seen nor has been force fed to us on a non-stop loop since the LA Kings season started, right? RIGHT?!?

The producers of Kings Weekly should look into this “creativity” concept.

That’s right, Kings Weekly ran the Jeff Carter/Frank Gehry episode of We Are All Kings… which is the Kings marketing campaign for the 2013-14 season… and which was originally posted on LA Kings Insider on October 5th of this year. Once again, Jon Rosen gets the scoop on Kings Weekly! I mean, I was making fun of We Are All Kings like 2 weeks ago! Even the LA Times is laughing at Kings Weekly’s ability to turn a story around quickly.

Well, I’m sure that the final 2 segments of Kings Weekly won’t be something that I’ve alreOF COURSE, THEY ARE SOMETHING THAT YOU’VE ALREADY SEEN!

An interview with Dean Lombardi that aired like during the Kings 2nd game of the season.
Sweet Manchester Monarchs polo, Dean.

This one gets a pass because the ‘Lil Kings are cute.
And they were even cuter on June 12th when we first saw this piece.

Well, at least there is the Kings Weekly Top 5 (#KWTop5), where Alex Curry runs down the Top 5 plays of the week as voted by the fans. And for the 2nd week in a row… this was the most original and funniest part of the show.

Pretty sure that next week, #TeamTRH takes over as Kings Weekly showrunner.

I just wish there was some way to visually represent what I looked like when I realized that this week’s Kings Weekly was mostly recycled content.

Well, tonight after the Kings-Coyotes game concludes, there is a brand “new” episode of Kings Weekly.

Okay, Matt Frattin line-dancing with Alex Curry might be the most amazing thing of all time.

Seriously, though… if Kings Weekly doesn’t step up their original content game… they might look into borrowing an old NBC marketing slogan.
