It’s been just over a week since the Los Angeles Kings won their 2nd Stanley Cup in 3 seasons. And although this team seems poised for even more greatness in the future… I’ll never forget one moment of the past 26 years that I’ve cheered for this hockey team.

2013-14 was truly an amazing season for The Royal Half. We welcomed new friends to the blog, went to Las Vegas, skated outdoors at Dodger Stadium, made new enemies in the Pacific Divison and finished it all up with a Stanley Cup.

Thanks to Kelly Cheeseman, Mike Altieri, Aaron LeValley, Aaron Brenner and especially my bro Pat Donahue at the LA Kings for showing the rest of the hockey world how to do it right.

Thanks to Jon Rosen, John Hoven, Dennis Bernstein, Jonathan Davis, Rich Hammond and Lisa Dillman for welcoming me into the Press Box this season with only a few jokes about living in my mother’s basement.

Thanks to all the folks on #TeamTRH. Your hard work, your countless jokes (good and bad… but mostly bad to be honest) and your unparalleled passion for the LA Kings is what sets this blog apart from all the other ones out there.

And finally, thanks to each and every one of you that reads the blog, listens to the Podcast or follows us on Twitter. Without you guys… none of this is worth it.

Literally almost cried when I saw this.

I’m heading on a little vacation out of the country for a few weeks. So enjoy the Draft, Free Agent Frenzy and whatever else dumb things the Philadelphia Flyers and/or San Jose Sharks do over the next few weeks. I thought that you all would like to see a couple photos I took during the LA Kings celebration on the ice June 13, 2014… when they won their 2nd Stanley Cup in 3 Seasons:

It truly is an amazing sight.

Matt Greene taking a moment to soak it all in.

Anze #1.

Willie Mitchell was in tears nearly the whole time on the ice.

These 3 photos, forever.

The Black Aces soaking it up.

I hope LA Kings fans never forget how important Jeff Schultz
stepping in during Round 2 was for this Cup run.

An amazing moment between Dean Lombardi and Alec Martinez
that I was lucky enough to witness.

I have the same carpeting in my living room.

Drew Doughty’s shoes.

And finally…

Is there anything more LA than someone in Google Glass on the ice for the celebration?
