TRH RECAP 43: WHEN SHARKS CRY

KINGS 2, SHARKS 3 (SO)

FIRST… make sure you read The Royal Half's GAMEDAY PREVIEW for last night's Kings-Sharks game in which we took a look back at early 1990's NHL Hockey. Exclusively on LAKings.com.

The game hasn't changed one bit.

THEN… Our RECAP master PumperNicholl takes a look at last night's Los Angeles Kings-San Jose Sharks game. Take it away, PumperNicholl….

*THE FOLLOWING BELOW IS NOT WRITTEN BY THE ROYAL HALF, BUT RATHER A GUEST WRITER*

The possible-to-probable first round playoff matchup between the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings would be hard to top for both teams. Ever since Joe Thornton kayaked his way through center ice after scoring the series-clinching goal against the Kings in 2011, the two teams seem to play every game with the intensity of a playoff game.

Luckily for us, the schedule makers left us two late season games to build up a little more hatred before the postseason begins.

So without further delay, TRH presents: The Battle for Fourth Place: Part I.

Pregame:

We are all hockey fans.
I'd recommend going with the Ducks.
And I'll never forget that time

1st Period:

Are we sure there was a first period? The only thing I seem to recall is some issues with watching the game in Palm Springs. Let's just move on.

Good question! We're on the case.

Dad would be proud, but that doesn't explain why the jersey change occurred.

*SWOON*

2nd Period:
This guy seems pretty serious.

No worries. Kings will bounce right back.

…Right. Well, it can't get any worse!

DREEEEEEEEEEEW!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Things are not looking good for the Kings at this point. They're going to have to step it up and Finnish the period strong if they want to hang on to fourth place!

JAKE MUZZIN: CALDER FINALIST

JAKE MUZZIN: HOTTIE TO CATCH A PREDATOR FINALIST

Well this whole Finland Twitter thing is working out so far. Let's see if our play-by-play team from Kiiminki can keep the momentum up!

I have no idea why people hate Sharks fans.

3rd Period:

That's how we all became Kings fans.

Despite this Herb Brooks-ian speech, the game remained 2-2.

Overtime/Shootout:

More scoreless action as the we head into shootout where every Kings fan is confident the team will win. I mean, Raffi Torres is shooting! HAHAHAHA

Welp, I understood that.

Punderful.

And on the eighth day…

TRH Three Stars of the Night:

3. Kings Fans

At least this guy won't have to learn a new way to read the standings next year…

2. Sharks Fans

SoCal: Bitch free since '93.

1. Antti Niemi

Niemi had 41 saves while picking up his 21st win of the season. With performances like this, he has clearly cemented his hold as the fifth best goalie in California. But give credit where credit is due:

Troof.
