When the Los Angeles Kings faced the Pittsburgh Penguins during the pre-season in Kansas City, there was a complete lack of NHL stars participating in the game. So when the Penguins face the Kings at Staples Center on Saturday night, instead they will be missing just most of their star players while the Kings will be icing a barely passable professional hockey team that has been shutout in back to back games on home ice.
Really excited to see all the Penguins stars in pers… aww, for reals?
While former King and current Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma has kept his team beyond competitive over the last season and 14 games with a depleted lineup, many Kings fans are starting to express that current head coach Terry Murray is underachieving with a loaded lineup. And at 44 seconds into his press conference after Thursday’s uninspiring loss to the Edmonton Oilers… Coach Murray wanted you to be sure to know how much of the LA Kings success has come from the play of Dustin Penner.
“Coach Murray? Never heard of him.”
Of course, no game against the Penguins would be complete without mention of the amazing Pensblog and their long-standing rivalry with yours truly, The Royal Half. Thankfully, Pensblog and I have become hardcore internet friends and earlier this year, they even lent their thoughts on how much they hate Mike Richards to the pages of this very blog.
I have no idea what is going on here but none of it seems positive towards Mike Richards.
Although I’m receiving quite the hatemail about the popular game of Penner Point… I’ve decided to give it another try. Just simply guess what time of which period Dustin Penner gets his 1st point of the night (and 2nd of the season!) in the game against the Penguins and you can win a free t-shirt from The Royal Half Gift Shoppe. You can leave your guess in the comments below or reply to me on Twitter with the hashtag #PennerPoint. Sorry folks… saying Penner won’t score, doesn’t count.
